Eligible Organizations: Any United States based 501(c)(3) or international equivalent non-profit organization or K-12 public or private school.

• All active full-time and part-time employees are eligible
• Donor Must be an active full-time or part-time employee when hours are volunteered and registered
• Retirees are not eligible to participate in VIP
• Employee must log their hours using the online Volunteer Journal. If employee logs 50 or more volunteer hours in the current calendar year with a qualified nonprofit or public school they can request a $750 Volunteer Incentive Program (VIP) grant from the Verizon Foundation for that organization.
  • Note: You must click the 'Request Match' link and complete a VIP request in order to submit your logged hours for a VIP grant
• Employees can only log hours that they have already volunteered. Employees may not log proposed or projected volunteer hours.
• 2012 hours must be registered online by January 31, 2013 In order to receive the VIP award of $750, the recipient nonprofit organization must verify the specified hours of service by the employee online no later than March 31 of the following calendar year (i.e. hours registered in 2012 must be confirmed by 03/31/13)

• Employees are eligible to receive two VIP awards, of $750 each, in a calendar year for two separate nonprofit organizations
• Employees are not permitted to confirm/verify their own volunteer hours or those of another Verizon employee
• Employees' family members* or someone with whom they share a “closer personal relationship” ** are not permitted to verify/confirm employees' volunteer hours on behalf of a nonprofit organization
• Employees are not permitted to request a VIP grant on behalf of organizations where they, or family member* or someone with whom they share a “close personal relationship”** with receive any direct or indirect commercial or financial benefit as a result of their volunteer activities with those organizations
• The benefiting nonprofit organization/school may not enter volunteer hours on behalf of an employee
• The Verizon Foundation/Verizon Foundation Customer Service Center is not permitted to register a donation on behalf of an employee.
• Volunteering must be done on employee's personal time
• A nonprofit organization may receive up to $25,000 per year through VIP.

*"Family Member" includes members of the employee's immediate and extended family. (Immediate and extended family includes, but is not limited to, one's spouse, domestic partner, parents, brothers, sisters, children, grandparents, grandchildren, cousins, in-laws, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews or any similar half or step-relationship.)

**"Close Personal Relationship" refers to anyone in your family or household, someone with whom you have, or had, a romantic relationship, or other close personal relationship.

"Family Member" includes members of the employee's immediate and extended family. (Immediate and extended family includes, but is not limited to, one's spouse, domestic partner, parents, brothers, sisters, children, grandparents, grandchildren, cousins, in-laws, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews or any similar half or step-relationship.)

Please be sure to abide by all Matching Gifts Program rules. Only those application that adhere to the rules will be considered for approval and payout. All Matching Gift requests are subject to review by Verizon Internal Audit and Verizon Security. As stated in the code of Conduct, Verizon does not tolerate falsification or improper alteration of records. Failure to comply with any provision of the Code or company policy is a serious violation, and may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
