Verizon Employees to Assist Victims of Hurricane Ike

Foundation to Match Employee Donations on a 1:1 Basis

Verizon is activating the Verizon Foundation's Disaster Relief Incentive Program (DRIP) to assist the more than 2 million people across several states affected by Hurricane Ike.

Under this program, the foundation matches employee donations on a 1:1 basis -- up to a maximum of $1,000 per year, per employee to designated nonprofit relief organization(s). If you have already utilized DRIP this year to support relief efforts in China, Myanmar, the Midwest flooding, or Hurricane Gustav, those donations will be part of the $1,000 maximum per year that the foundation will match.

You must register your donation through the Verizon DRIP program to receive the coupon with your gift ID number prior to making your donation. The program will then link you directly to the non-profit organizations accepting donations.

In response to Hurricane Ike, the foundation will match donations thru September 30, to the American Red Cross, the Salvation Army and Save the Children

If you've already donated to one of the organizations named above to help those affected by Hurricane Ike and have registered it through the Verizon Foundation's Matching Gift Incentive Program (MIP), the Verizon Foundation will automatically re-register your MIP gift as a DRIP gift.

Donations to the American Red Cross may be made via credit card only. Donations to Save the Children may be made by check only and donations to the Salvation Army may be made via check or credit card. If you send a check, make sure you indicate VZ - Hurricane Ike relief in the memo field of your check.
